Cornish Botanical Plaster Cast Artwork
Hello, and thank you for dropping by.
Here you will find a collection of my botanical plaster cast artwork, past and present. Each piece begins with real plants, flowers and grasses gently pressed into clay to capture every delicate detail. From this impression, plaster is poured into the clay, and once set the plaster creates a one of a kind relief that preserves the botanical beauty forever.
Every cast is unique, just like the plants used to create it. A tactile piece of artwork and gentle reminder of just how beautiful our botanical world is. And because of this, some of these pieces quietly find their way into my heart, making them surprisingly difficult to let go. So, I've begun creating copies of a selection of my original works. Now I can treasure the originals that have become part of my journey, while happily sharing their beauty with others.
After all, I feel that creating is my passion and sharing is the joy!
Just perfect for cosy homes, nature lovers, mindful spaces and anyone who finds comfort in the textures of the botanical world.
The neutral plaster tones complement any décor - place in a sunlit windowsill to capture the changing light and shadows throughout the day, or perhaps hang in your favourite quiet reading corner, a conservatory surrounded by plants or simply hung on a wall or on a shelf for all to admire.
If a particular design catches your eye but you'd prefer it in a different shape or size, I'd be delighted to discuss creating a bespoke piece just for you. Please feel free to get in touch.

The Imprint Process
(01)
Arranging & Pressing
Each piece begins with selecting and arranging fresh plants, flowers and grasses gently pressing into soft clay to capture every delicate detail. Once the plants etc are removed from the clay, the impression is formed.
(06)
Mould & Plaster
A mould surround is created and plaster is carefully poured. Once the plaster is set, the clay impression is peeled away creating a one of a kind relief that preserves the botanical beauty forever.
(03)
The Reveal
This is the bit I like, the big reveal.
Every cast is unique with the twists and turns of the stems, the beautiful detail of the grasses, fine petals, buds and leaves that I may have not noticed in its natural living state.
(04)
Finishing Process
Then begins the finishing process - cleaning the cast and removing the clay from the fine details, allowing the plaster to dry fully before final cleaning and sanding.
(05)
Ready to Hang
Ta dah - at last, ready for a hanging hook on the back to display on a wall
or just place on an easel on a shelf or windowsill to capture the ever-changing light and shadows throughout the day.

About Me
Hi, I'm Andrea! I'm Cornish born and bred, nature lover and gardener, enjoy exploring walled gardens, easily distracted by pretty things and fond of a stripey top.
Through my plaster cast art my aim is not just to capture the fleeting beauty but evoke a sense of movement - the gentle sway of a breeze - freezing a moment of natural movement and bringing a touch of the Cornish countryside into the home.
My Inspiration
Flowers and nature have always had a special place in my life - from my early memories of picking daffodils (just the flower heads!) for my mum from the field next to our family home, to the heady scent of red roses growing in my nana's greenhouse, the hedge full of vibrant purple violets and cottage garden blooms of rambling roses, white honesty, geraniums and yellow loosestrife - I'm at my happiness in a peaceful garden surrounded by plants, with a cool breeze and birdsong.
