About Me

Every piece is created by hand and is completely unique.

Rooted in Cornwall, inspired by nature

HI, I'm Andrea, I’m the maker behind Cornish Botanical Imprints. I’m Cornish born and bred, a nature lover, gardener, explorer of walled gardens, easily distracted by pretty things and usually found wearing a stripey top.

Flowers have always been part of my happiest memories, from picking daffodils for my mum to the scent of roses in my nana’s greenhouse. I’m still most at home in a peaceful garden, surrounded by plants, birdsong and a gentle breeze.

How it all started

I discovered botanical bas relief while experimenting with clay and lavender. I quickly became fascinated by the delicate impressions left behind by every leaf, stem and petal.

Each artwork begins with real plants and flowers gathered from my garden and the Cornish countryside. They are carefully arranged, pressed into clay and cast in plaster, preserving a fleeting moment of botanical beauty.

A little piece of the outdoors

My aim is to capture more than the shape of a flower. Through each arrangement, I try to suggest the gentle movement of plants in a breeze.

Every piece is created by hand and completely unique. I hope it brings a little of the calm, texture and beauty of the Cornish countryside into your home.

Created by hand, one piece at a time

Every botanical composition is arranged by hand before being gently pressed into clay. Plaster is then poured into the impression, allowed to set and carefully revealed.

The cast is cleaned by hand to remove clay from the smallest details, then left to dry before being finished and sanded. It is a patient process, but one that allows every fine petal, bud and leaf to be properly appreciated.
